What is Alpha?
The Alpha course is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith. It’s relaxed, non-threatening, low key, friendly and fun.
There is a meal together at the beginning of each session, which gives you an opportunity to get to know each other. This is followed by a talk and then a chance to discuss “questions of life” in small groups.
Listen, learn, discuss and discover. And ask anything. Alpha is a place where no question it too simple or too hostile.
And it is supported by all the main Christian denominations.

What is involved?
The Alpha course consists of a series of talks looking at topics such as “who is Jesus?” And “Why and how do I pray?” After the talks we divide into small groups for discussion. For an evening Alpha course, each evening runs from 7.30 pm to 9.45 pm. However, we also run Alpha during the daytime for those who can’t make the evenings.
Who is Alpha for?
Alpha is for everyone, especially:
- Those wanting to investigate Christianity
- New Christians
- Newcomers to the church
- Those who want to brush up on the basics
What will it cost?
There is no charge for the Alpha course.
When is the next course?
We have just completed our Autumn course but if you are interested please contact us and we will let you know when our next evening course is due to start. Our next course is likely to be a daytime course begining in the Spring term 2012. This will include an introductory session with the course beginning the following week.
