St George’s is a growing evangelical church in the Glascote area of Tamworth. Situated towards the end of Bamford Street, St George’s is about a mile east of the town centre.

We are a forward thinking church, where we seek to explore what it means to live out our Christian lives in today’s culture using the Bible as our guide.

Although St George’s looks like a traditional church on the outside, the inside was reordered in the late 1990s to provide a modern worship space. Services are varied and informal. A music group leads the sung worship, using many modern worship songs and the best of the more traditional songs.

Perhaps unusual in today’s culture, the church is fortunate enough to include a complete cross section of ages most of whom live within the parish. A cup of tea is served in the church after the 10.00 am service which enables the church members to get to know each other better.

We also have crèche facilities for the 10.00 am morning service with groups running for nursery and primary aged children. Our Youth homegroup (for secondary age children) meets fortnightly on a Sunday evening. On Thursday afternoons Open Door meets, an opportunity for adults to meet other people over tea and cakes. We regularly run Alpha Courses and social events are a regular feature of our church.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
